Isn’t Solar Expensive?

Short answer; NO! You’re already paying for power!
Long answer; The difference between paying NSP and Solar should be almost unnoticeable at first, and then over time, you start saving money you would have spent on NSP. After a while, you will have saved upwards of $40,000 (after taking into consideration the cost of the system)!

Let’s say you buy your power from Nova Scotia Power (NSP) at an average price of $200 per month; your solar cost may be between $200 and $240 per month at 0% financing with a locked-in rate. That means while NSP applies for more rate increases and is forced to add the carbon tax, your price stays the same. After ten years, it’s paid off even though its production is warranted for 25 years.

Why go solar now?

Why wait, and pay more for power? The Greener Homes 0% financing incentive and $3000 rebate won’t be here forever; it has been changed multiple times already. You are already paying for power; this is similar to switching providers for a better deal, so this won’t affect your savings or monthly expenses in a meaningful way. The sooner you get solar, the lower the cost will be; prices are increasing with inflation and demand.

Nova Scotia’s Energy Problem

Are you tired of skyrocketing energy bills and the harmful effects of both carbon tax and emissions? Nova Scotia is trying to reach its goal of 80% renewables by 2030, which is basically an impossible task being that currently, 42% of the power from NSP comes from coal, and about 17% comes from gas/oil.

Nova Scotia’s (new) carbon tax and annual increases in power costs from Nova Scotia Power (NSP) are making it harder to keep up with expenses while protecting the environment. Most people are using more electricity than ever, getting heat pumps, electric vehicles and more, creating a higher demand on our almost 150-year-old electric grid. Combine that with a population expected to double (though currently expanding by 3% per year), carbon tax increases, 6.9% NSP increases and more, and it puts us into a really bad situation.

Some calculations say we may use up to 250% of the amount of power we are right now within the next seven years while prices, with carbon tax included, could double our power prices. It’s time for a sustainable and cost-effective solution.

Benefits of going Solar with us!

1. Affordable and Accessible: We believe that solar energy should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we are proud to help you participate in the Canada Greener Homes Program. As part of this program, you can take advantage of up to a $3,000 grant and 0% financing. This financial support makes it easy for you to go solar and start saving from day one. Say goodbye to expensive electricity bills and hello to long-term savings!

2. Energy Cost Stability: Are you tired of unpredictable energy costs? With our residential solar, you can enjoy energy cost stability. The similarity between the cost of solar and the cost of Nova Scotia Power is virtually non-existent from the start. You’ll be protected from carbon tax and NSP’s annual increases by generating your own clean energy. Take control of your energy future and experience peace of mind knowing that your energy costs are stable and predictable.

3. Increased Home Value: Investing in solar power saves you money and increases your home’s value. Solar installations can average your home’s value by between $4,000 and $6,000 per kilowatt. When potential buyers see the benefits of solar energy and the potential for long-term cost savings, they recognize the added value. With Solar Sensations, you’re not just investing in solar panels; you’re investing in the value of your home.

4. Long-Term Warranty: At Nova Scotians Going Solar, we stand by the quality and durability of our solar panels. We are committed to providing you with the best solar products on the market. That’s why we offer a comprehensive 25-year warranty on our solar panels. You can have peace of mind knowing that your investment is protected and your solar panels will continue to perform optimally for years to come. We prioritize your satisfaction and are here to support you throughout your solar journey.

5. Greener Homes Loan: Financing your solar investment is made simple with the Canada Greener Homes Loan. This loan program allows you to pay off your solar installation investment at 0% over ten years. By spreading out the cost and solar lowering your power bill, you can easily manage your finances while reaping the benefits of solar energy. Take advantage of this flexible financing option to transform your home into an energy-efficient powerhouse while protecting your budget and lowering your spending.

6. Net Metering and Energy Independence: You can achieve energy independence with our residential solar solutions. Most homes can offset all of their energy consumption by harnessing the power of the sun. Any excess energy generated by your solar panels is sent back to the grid through net metering, allowing you to earn credits. These credits can then be used during times when your solar panels may not generate enough energy, such as at night. Maximizing net metering can effectively eliminate or significantly reduce your monthly electricity bills. Embrace the freedom and independence that comes with generating your own clean energy.
