With Nova Scotia Power passing the Carbon Tax to customers, electricity bills will increase significantly, starting at $65 per ton of CO2 in 2023 and rising to $170 per ton by 2030, leading to a 20.21% hike. For an average household using 829 kWh per month, the monthly cost will rise from $173.47 to $208.53 in 2024. The government plans to cover up to 50% of these costs through financial aids.
